Mini Sessions: Surf City, NJ

This round of summer Surf City, LBI mini sessions was such a fun evening with amazing couples and families! I had the privilege of photographing some past couples and new couples this time around, and it’s always so special celebrating these milestones and moments with my mini-session clients! Despite the weather app saying clear skies, we were hit with an overcast day and some light drizzles, but the amazing couples who came out to Surf City embraced the wild NJ weather! Everyone was so understanding and still down for a good time, which is all I could have asked for! Even with cloudy skies, we made magic, and I always love the moody vibe of a foggy day at the beach!

First up, Kristen and Matt joined me at the Surf City boat with their son, and we had such a fun time running around and getting into the water!! I loved seeing how playful their son was, and how he could let loose while exploring the beach! They weren’t afraid to get a bit wet in the ocean, which made for some really playful family photos!

The sweetest couple, Dan and Alexis, joined me next with their adorable son, Rhodes! He was all business with his serious face, which made for the CUTEST family photos even though we reallllly tried for the smiles! They embraced what their little man gave them, and gave him all the love which they played around on the beach together.

Caitlin and Jan, an adorable couple I photographed at a mini session years ago, joined me again for this round of Surf City, LBI mini sessions! It’s such an honor when couples come back for multiple sessions, and I was so excited to photograph these engagement photos for them. Such a special way to celebrate their upcoming marriage.

Lastly, Meghan and Pat, who were staying right down the street from our mini session spot rounded out the night with a playful, drizzly couples session! They were so much fun and fully embraced the weather, so I had them twirling, running, and snuggling up to end the evening! Overall, it was such a fun day where everyone not only received updated photos but made really sweet memories down the shore!

What are Mini Sessions?

Mini Sessions are like bite-sized versions of a full photoshoot. They’re designed to be convenient and quick and most of all, fun! These back-to-back 20-minute sessions at a predetermined location is the perfect opportunity to update your family album, celebrate a new addition to the family, celebrate a milestone, or just capture some special moments with your loved ones. The bonus is that it allevaites the stress of planning and coordinating by not having to choose the date and location. You can focus on choosing outfits and just having a great time together!
