Their Session: Boundary Creek, NJ

Omggg, this Boundary Creek engagement session was such a dream! Rachael and Andrew are absolutely adorable together from their deep connection to their goofy side! Capturing everything from the sensual love to the playful giddiness they feel was so special. Loved that their connection shined so bright even during this moody, cloudy fall day! You don’t always need a sunset to make magic!

These two kindly modeled for a mentoring session where I was teaching another photographer all about posing and working with couples! They were such an amazing duo to work with, and I was honored they were up for modeling!

Their Love Story

Rachael knew from the moment she saw Andrew that she was going to marry him! She said, “At the time, when we first met, I was in another relationship that was quickly burning out. “Timing is everything” really rang true for me and Andrew. It wasn’t until March 17th, almost a year later and a few attempts at dating other people, that we decided we just couldn’t be without one another. Since then, we haven’t looked back. He’s my best friend, my twin flame! We are pretty obsessed with each other :)”

From Andrew’s perspective, “The first time I saw Rachael, I had food poisoning. She had Layla with her and I thought damn that’s a cute girl and one big dog! She was with another guy at the time so I didn’t even think being with her was an option. Luckily, that relationship ended and I made my move. On St. Patrick’s, my roommates and I were throwing a party at our apartment. Rachael hates st. Patrick’s day and showed up wearing all blue. I knew she was the one from the moment on.”

Their sweet engagement was nontraditional and totally them – they decided to take a spontaneous road trip to the west (CO, NM, AZ, UT), and made the back of their Tiguan a bed. They had no plan and just went for it! Their first destination was Dillon, Colorado where they found a perfect camping spot! After a long 16-hour drive, just before sunset, he popped the question. She said, “We were exhausted but it was perfect. He didn’t even have a ring! But like I said, I always knew he was the one! He carved our initials into a tree where we spent the night in the mountains under the stars together. It was magical.”

Rachael loves how much she loves her – she said she’s never met anyone as committed and as loving. He’s caring and kind and she can 10000% be herself with him.
