Their Session: In-Home, New Jersey

When my amazingly talented florist friend Kerry Patel of Kerry Patel Designs referred Abby and Vicky to me for their wedding I was beyond thrilled! It turned out that I wasn’t available for their wedding day, but these awesome ladies still asked me to photograph their engagement session!! I was so freaking stoked to still get to work with them!

Abby and Vicky decided on a cozy in-home Session that ended up being in my hometown which was super neat. That seriously never happens! I loved getting to see their fun style and personalities displayed all throughout their home decor! There were momentos of travel, music, dogs, and a bunch of other eclectic design all throughout their home! It was so dang cool! I’m so so thankful to get to see into such an intimate part of my sweet couples’ lives!

It was so much fun getting to see Abby and Vicky play with their giant furbaby who was bigger than both of them! It made for so many hilarious photos and I loved how they both felt so comfortable hanging around their home, from lounging on the couch, to playing guitar in their home-office, and ending that perfect night hanging out in their backyard with their doggo! We popped champagne and had so many laughs, it was such a blast!

Their Love Story

Abby and Vicky met while they were at the Baltimore Pride parade celebration with a group of mutual friends. Abby was living in Maryland at the time and Vicky lived in Texas! There was an instant connection between them and they felt like they had known each other for years, not just one day! From there, they started a long-distance relationship and after almost 2 years, Vicky decided to leave her job in Texas and move in with Abby!

Abby proposed to Vicky at Hollandsridge Farm while the tulips were in full bloom! Vicky is obsessed with tulips and Amsterdam, so while they couldn’t actually make it to the Netherlands, Abby found the best alternative a lot closer to home!

Abby and Vicky,

Thank you so much for inviting me to hang out with you two at your amazing home! You were both so much fun, and I loved how you weren’t afraid to be silly and have fun with me! Even though the weather wasn’t exactly in our favor that day, your connection was so tangible and you both clearly light up when you’re together!! I wish I could have been there for your wedding day, but I’m so grateful that you chose me to capture this milestone for you! Congratulations, ladies!!! xoxo
