Boonton Downtown Lake House Beach Fall Ice Cream Shop October Engagement Session New Jersey NJ Wedding Photographer

Dominique and Nolan chose two different locations for their engagement session that were special and unique to their relationship. We first met at the quaint and quirky downtown area with ice cream shops, antique stores, pink walls, and so much character that was just a few minutes away from Dominique’s home where we chased the sunset on the lake in her backyard! I absolutely loved the variety we captured for these two cuties who braved the cold winds and drizzling for these adorable pictures! They were seriously up for anything, which made their sesh so much fun, and it was amazing seeing how much they lit up when they were wrapped up in one another’s arms.

Dominique and Nolan, thank you so much for sharing your story and hearts with me! Nolan and Dominique met at work and became best friends very quickly. Dominique told me that Nolan is such a loving, patient, and kind person. At the time, Dominique had been dating around but none of them seemed to fit with who she was and she finally realized the person she wanted to be with had been right in front of her all along. She called it cheesy, I say it’s a perfect part of their story! 🙂 Nolan has a shyer side and is not one to share his heart easily, so Dominique took the initiative and told him how she felt! Thankfully for both of them, it turned out that he had felt that way about her all along. They’ve been together since she was a senior in high school, so they are going on 5 years now! How incredible and sweet!!

Dominique says, “Fast forward 5 years on Friday, October 13, 2017, my sisters took me to get my nails done and forced me to have a manicure as a late birthday present (I should have caught on, but I was clueless). When I arrived back on my street, my sister stopped the car and pulled me out of the car and said “You have to do this alone.” At that point, I still had no clue what was going on. I live in a lake house right next to the beach, and when I was shoved out of the car I saw that a pathway was lit up with lights on the beach with rose petals placed along it. Each of my family members were standing along the path with a sign that had something written on it. When I entered the beach, my oldest brother gave me a hug, took my hand and brought me to the lit up path. As I walked down the pathway, I finally reached my dock, which Nolan had decorated with lights and candles and where he was standing waiting for me. That’s where he got down on one knee and proposed!” She sent me pictures of her family holding the signs all lined up right on the beach you’ll see in these photos! <3
