Brittany and Patrick’s stunning fall wedding day at The Estate at Farrington Lake could not have been more of a beautiful, emotional, and meaningful wedding day. 11 years together culminated in such a special day from getting ready with their favorite people to saying their “I dos” out under the trees and nature like they love so much! There were tears of laughter and love throughout the entire day as they celebrated the start of their forever.
This was truly one of those wedding days that brought me back to the purpose behind what I do. I capture memories for families to hold for years and years to come. To document their loved ones all in the room, the joy and love that surrounds my couple, and the moments, big and small, that unfold. Patrick’s father, unfortunately, couldn’t be with them on their big day because he was fighting his battle with cancer. Although he had to be at the hospital on their wedding day, their family members made sure he could be there to watch his son marry the love of his life! They FaceTimed him in during the ceremony and held his boutonniere in his honor. The strength and love both families carried on this big day was incredible, and I’m so thankful I could be the one to document the memories they’ll hold onto forever!
The night Brittany and Patrick met, Brittany was hanging out with her friend Katie whose friend, John, invited them to come hang out at his friend’s house. John’s friend’s house happened to be Patrick’s grandmother’s garage, where there were a few other friends hanging out together. The first thing Brittany ever said to Patrick was in the form of a defensive question, “What are you doing?!” because they were sitting across from each other and he put his foot on the edge of her chair almost tipping it.
She didn’t remember much that they spoke about that night, but she remembers just laughing with all of their friends. She asked someone to give her a ride home that night, and Patrick offered right away. They had about a 4-minute car ride together that resulted in Patrick asking her, “hey, can I have your number?” with a little smirk on his face, she recalls. She gave him her number 11 years ago, and look where they ended up! 🙂
Their proposal went a little something like this: “We got engaged on October, 7th 2017 at a “fall bbq” we were hosting at our new home we had just closed on in June. To me, it was just a bbq with some friends and family, to our friends and family it was more of a housewarming party, and to Patrick it was an engagement party. After we all took a big photo in our backyard, he surprised the heck out of me when he got down on one knee! Then it was all of those things for all of us. I was clueless and I was totally shocked but very happy!” How special to be surrounded by so many friends and family for such an amazing moment! Check out more from their beautiful beauty engagement session!
Brittany loves that Patrick is the opposite of her – totally spontaneous. She prefers to stay in her comfort zone, but “ever since I met him, I have felt more spontaneous myself” she says! Pat adores that Brittany is so dependable and has always kept him grounded over the years!
You two are such incredibly people on your own, but together you’re beyond words. I can’t believe we started this journey back in May of 2018, and now it’s all wrapping up! I’m so excited to see where life takes you two next – I know it’s going to be somewhere so so good! 😉 Sending all my love and congratulations your way!! <3
