Gabby & Andy were SO much freaking fun to hang out with for the evening! Not only did it feel like hanging out with old friends, but it was super fun getting to explore a place they love coming together! They scoped the whole area out ahead of time, and I know it won’t be the last trip they make the Huber Woods Park! This gem of a location felt like it was somewhere outside of New Jersey! It was so whimsical and diverse from fields to rolling hills and so much in between.
Gabby and Andy incorporated their biggest love – wine! I love when my couples include something that means a lot to their relationship, and since these two go engaged at a winery and frequent the wine store, it was only fitting to bring a bottle to their session! Their whole session felt like such an intimate and special date night, which was really amazing to witness! I always joke that I’m a third-wheel to my couples, but I always feel so lucky to capture their love stories authentically!
Their love story began their junior year of high school. They had chemistry class together. Gabby struggled in chemistry and Andrew sat in front of her. Science was never her favorite, so when she wasn’t grasping the material, he was the first one to help her. It wasn’t long until they started connecting. He became one of her best friends. They’d talk on the phone for hours. Once they started getting closer, Andrew would pick Gabby up in his small convertible and they’d just drive with no destination in mind, having long conversations about anything and everything. He made her feel so comfortable. Gabby said “I’ve never laughed or smiled more than when I was with him and that continues to this day. Fast forward a few months later, he asked me to prom and I had the best night of my life. While we were in Wildwood, we walked on the beach and he looked me in the eyes and asked me if I’d go out with him. I’ll never forget that day. After high school, Andrew enlisted in the Air Force. It was hard but we made long-distance work for 4 years! We would constantly visit each other, (he was stationed in Virginia) a few times a month, never letting go of the love we had for each other. After his time in the Air Force, we moved in together and started really building a life together. Here we are, six and a half years later and I’m just as crazy about him as I was when we first met.”
As if these two couldn’t get any cuter… here’s how Andrew proposed: “October 26th, 2019. This day will always have a special place in my heart. I thought this day was just like any other day. My mom’s birthday was the day before, so I was under the impression that we were going to a winery to celebrate her birthday. We did a wine tour at Villa Milagro Vineyards in Phillipsburg NJ. Andrew and I love trying new wines and visiting new wineries all over NJ, so this didn’t seem unusual for us! Both of our parents were there, too. The vineyard was absolutely breathtaking and so peaceful. It was prime time for the foliage too! All the leaves were a beautiful mixture of orange and reds. After the tasting, Andrew took me out to the vineyards to “take pictures of me.” He told me to walk down the vineyard so he could get a candid of me looking at the trees. He said, “I think I got the perfect photo, come see!” When I turn around, I see him there on one knee. I didn’t even know how to react, I was in such shock and I started crying tears of JOY! I was so happy. He said “Will you marry me Gabby?” I said yes within seconds and saw the beautiful ring. It was absolutely perfect and I’m so glad we got to share that moment just between the two of us. After, our parents came to meet us and tears of happiness ran down their faces. When we got back on the bus, everyone on the tour quickly knew what happened and all congratulated us. It was the perfect way to end a perfect day.”
Thank you for being so wildly fun and up for an adventure for your engagement session! I had so much fun exploring Huber Woods Park with you and gawking over how beautiful the location is and how ADORABLE you two are!! I’m so excited to celebrate your big day with you two at Rock Island Lake Club next year! It’s going to be such an amazing day! Love you both so much! xo
