Their Wedding Day: Renault Winery, Egg Harbor, NJ

When I first asked Alex and Mike about their ideal wedding plans, these two were dreaming of a rustic natural theme with greenery and gold accents at Renault Winery! They knew they wanted more of a rustic-chic vibe on a beautiful fall day! Although they originally planned for a ceremony in the vineyard and cocktail hour outside by the pond, the pandemic AND rain had other plans!

My favorite part?! They went with the flow and their wedding day was absolutely gorgeous regardless of it being slightly different from their plan A. With the pandemic, it seemed like all couples had to consider plans B, C, and D, and even still, they often found themselves making new plans. Alex and Mike never once let the craziness of this year hinder the most important part of this whole day – their marriage!

They were the happiest, brightest, most excited couple ever to just finally be married to their best friend!! It was so special to watch their love continue to grow on this perfect day!

I loved all of the thoughtful details from Alex having a stitched piece of her grandma’s butterfly scarf in her dress by her heart to Mike gifting his guys some really awesome engraved pocket knives and more. Everywhere you turned on their day, there was something new and unique to look at from The Jess Press Shop’s beautiful hand-calligraphy signs to Rustic Drift‘s unreal wooden backdrop wall with a neon sign for their sweetheart table! Everything was beautifully decorated by the talented MDS Floral!

Their family and friends celebrated them all night long with funny and emotional toasts to breaking it down on the dance floor! It was so fun from morning until night getting with their hype crew! Overall 10/10 wedding day, of course, and I’m so excited to share this blog post with so many fun details and moments with you today!

Their Love Story

Alex and Mike met through a mutual friend over 5 years ago. They became friends first and then it developed into a relationship a few short months later! Mike proposed at their home. She said, “I came home to a love note attached to our door with instructions to slowly open the door. I opened the door to him standing at the end of an aisle of candles!” How special is that?!

These two typically we go to a local restaurant for dinner and a few drinks. They live near the city so if the weather is nice, they love to go for a walk by the water afterward and then head home to watch one of their favorite shows – The Office or New Girl usually – with a glass of wine! Sounds like a perfect date night to me! 🙂

Mike loves that Alex is very patient and has this calmness about her that balances him out. Alex’s my favorite quality of Mike is his humor and how easy it is to talk to him. She noted that he is a great listener and it’s a major plus that they have the same taste in almost everything from music, to food, to fashion and everything in between!
