Leah & Daniel’s intimate wedding on right on the Raritan River was such a truly perfect day from the sweet getting ready moments with Leah and her mother to alllllll of the portrait time we got out on the dock! They were so closely surrounded by their nearest and dearest friends and family, which made this day just that much more special! I loved seeing familiar faces at their wedding, since Leah and I had gone to high school together years ago! They honored their love of fall with beautiful mums and fall decor at the yacht club! What I thought was so special was that this venue isn’t actually a wedding venue regularly, so it was a super unique location for them to tie the knot! It made it really unique and totally their own!!
Their ceremony incorporated Jewish traditions like holding the Chuppah and breaking the glass, but they realized in the moment that they had forgotten the glass inside! Instead of holding up the big kiss, someone quickly grabbed a plastic cup and Dan stomped on that before kissing his new wife! It was really funny and so memorable for everyone, which made that moment super special for them!
Leah and Daniel met in June 2015 when she joined the local rescue squad and started training to become an EMT. Dan was already an EMT and helped her study for EMT school! Their story started with nights spent responding to 911 calls together. He had asked Leah out a few times over the course of the summer and she continually said no since she just wanted to be friends at the time. However, over that summer, they became really good friends through talking and hanging out every day! At the end of the summer, Leah went away for a weekend and that was the first time they weren’t together since first meeting and she realized she really missed him and I wanted to be more than friends! When she returned from the trip, Leah asked Dan out and they’ve been together since!
The proposal went like this: “Dan proposed to me in Florida and it was a complete surprise. My grandmother called me about a month before I had surgery and asked that I come down after the procedure so that she could see me and Dan. I went down a few days before Dan and when he came down I picked him up from the airport. He proposed to me at my grandmother’s place before dinner along the waterway. I had no idea the entire time and it was a complete surprise!”
You two are so adventurous and up for anything, which I absolutely love about you! I had a blast exploring and getting so lost at your engagement session, and again celebrating with you on your big day! Thank you so much for having me there to document these exciting times in your life! I can’t wait to see where life takes you two next! Congratulations!! <3
