Their Session: Patterson Park & Fells Point, Baltimore, MD

The rain during Gina and Sam’s Fells Point engagement session truly couldn’t stop us from having so much fun! These two (and their furbaby, Bentley) fully embraced the crazy weather and made that moody, foggy vibe look so freaking good! After living in Baltimore for a few years now, it only made sense to plan their session in the area that means so much to their love story! I love getting to explore new places and learn more about their story along the way!

First up, we brought Bentley to the park near their home where they often take their pup for long walks! This park was endlessly beautiful with plenty of beautiful tree-lined pathways to work with! The pond was also such a serene spot for them to cozy up together. The perks of this wild weather meant we pretty much had the park to ourselves, so it felt incredibly peaceful and unique!

After some hard work modeling, Bentley earned his pup cup at the local ice cream shop – B-More Licks! Their walk-up window makes it perfect for couples with dogs to stop by. After ice cream, they changed into different outfits for pictures at the waterfront, Fells Point! This gorgeous spot was the dreamiest way to end the evening with all of the romantic lights and beautiful views!

Their Love Story

Sam and Gina have known each other since they were young, but grew up going to different schools. They met as campers at a summer camp around 4th grade. Years down the road and about a year before they started dating, they became best friends and were truly inseparable! That friendship grew into the most amazing relationship and they’ve been together for 7 years now! They moved to Baltimore, and love spending time traveling, trying new restaurants, and snuggling up with their sweet Goldendoodle, Bentley!

Sam planned the proposal with the help of his mom! He let Gina pick a restaurant, and thankfully, she chose a fancier place on the water! He knew the most important aspect of the proposal was that it was a complete surprise and that they were alone. They had a nice dinner and then walked over to a more secluded area on the water where he popped the question! The second part of the surprise was a hotel stay nearby where the room was set up beautifully with flowers and champagne to celebrate their engagement!

When I asked about what they love most about one another, Gina said, “I love how supportive Sam is of me in everything I do. When I’m down, he is the only person I want to talk to and just always know how to put a smile on my face.” 🙂 Sam adores that Gina is truly the most thoughtful person. He shared, “Her ability to make everyone around her feel welcome and happy is incredible. She’s easygoing but fun making her the best person to hang out with.”

Gina and Sam,

Ahhh, I had SO much fun seeing your neighborhood and hanging out with you two (and Bentley, of course!) at your Fells Point engagement session! You two are so much fun and have such a special connection. As you said, you were best friends first and that truly shows! <3 I’m so grateful to be your photographer, and I can’t wait to celebrate your marriage next spring at the beautiful Hotel Du Village!
