In my experience, it seems like most couples are either all IN for having a wedding planner or all OUT!

There’s usually less of a middle ground when it comes to wanting to hire a planner, but I personally think hiring a wedding planner is invaluable! However, I also don’t think they’re right for every couple!

The first thing to consider is your time and interest in wedding planning! Some couples have highly demanding jobs and limited free-time, but want to plan a banging wedding day that takes a ton of attention to detail! Ding ding ding, sounds like an amazing option for a planner!

On the other hand, there are some couples who simply just don’t have as much of an interest in the finer details. Annnnd, lastly, some couples KNOW what they want, but don’t know HOW to make it happen! Well, a planner might be their perfect answer!

Some couples, however, are ALL about picking every little detail and want a hands-on investment into their big day! They love DIYs, planning, organization, spreadsheets, mood boards, and more! They love personally meeting all of the vendors and investing so much time into the nitty gritty! Maybe they are incredibly organized and planned everything from their own Sweet 16 to their senior prom, so they’ve got this thing covered! If that’s you, you’re probably just fine without a planner, but it can’t hurt to consider having someone in your corner, even if it’s just for the day of!

Typically, when there’s no planner involved, I am next in line to take on the role of planner AND photographer. Your planner will do everything to help you stick to your budget, from finding great deals, thrifting the DIY-ables, and possibly even hooking you up with vendors who they have a great connection with!

Your wedding planner will be the one to chat with your vendors for anything you may not need to be directly involved in. They’ll let you sit back and ENJOY, while they coordinate all the things and keep everything running smoothly! Your venue’s coordinator is not the same role as hiring an outside wedding planner! Your venue coordinator may be able to guide you in regards to venue-related concerns or give suggestions with certain aspects of your day, but a planner goes FAR beyond that with planning every detail of your day!
