Their Vow Renewal: Taughannock Falls, NY

To know Nichole and Frank is to know true, undeniable love. Their connection is unmatched and they both have the keen ability to make others feel so loved and cared for. It’s been an honor to work with them since minute-one and I know I’ve found such special friends throughout this journey. I absolutely loved hearing about their vision for a vow renewal in a place that holds so much meaning to their love story!

Their Taughannock Falls vow renewal was one for the books! They handled everything that their special day threw their way with laughter and smiles from a little rain to muddy boots to an incredible sunset to close out the night! Surrounded by their original wedding party and family, they recommitted their hearts to one another with a view that was truly impeccable. I was in awe of how they both light up a room and shine when they’re together! What an honor to capture 10+ years of their love!!

Their Love Story

Nichole and Frank have such an incredible love story built on years of friendship and growing up together. They met about a month before Nichole’s 15th birthday when she was living in Georgia at the time. Her close friend who was basically like a brother, Joe, was picking her up at the airport when she was flying into NJ solo on a redeye flight for a long weekend to visit family and friends.

Frank is Joe’s best friend, so when he asked if Frank wanted to go with him to the airport to keep him company and to meet Nichole, he was up for tagging along! Their platonic friendship started that night! She said, “I still remember, almost 20 years later, meeting Frank for the first time and the three of us walking through the airport with people thinking I was someone famous because they looked like bodyguards – wearing long trench coats and towering over me (Franks 6’3 to my 5’2). I remember Frank making me laugh so hard I almost cried and thinking, I want him to be my friend.”

Fast forward to four years later when Frank would became her rock and best friend during a rough time in life. She trusted him more than anyone, and for almost the entirety of 2008, they hung out as close friends. She said, “He slowly healed my broken heart and showed me what it was to be cherished and respected and loved, just as a friend. In early 2009, we hung out so often that we jokingly made a pact that if we were both single by the time I turned 45 (He’s 3 and 1/2 years older) that we’d just get married. Thankfully – I already knew I was falling in love with him – I didn’t have to wait that long, haha.”

In 2009, after years of friendship, he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and couldn’t see himself with anyone else!

Their Proposal & Wedding Day

Frank proposed to Nichole on a beach in Brigantine, NJ, under a sky full of stars. It was a moment of genuine surprise for Nichole, who had always wanted a proposal that caught her off guard. Overwhelmed with joy, she said yes (cue the tears, falling to her knees, all the hugs, and the realization that she never actually answered him in all the excitement). It was a YES, of course! They celebrated with family and champagne afterward.
