Their Wedding Day: Stroudsmoor Country Inn, Stroudsburg, PA

Stroudsmoor Country Inn was the perfect location for Rachel and Jonathan’s wedding day – it truly captured everything they wanted for their wedding! Rachel told me early on that she wanted a wedding that highlights nature, and they truly got just that from the outdoor ceremony to the mountain views for their portraits! The ladies started off their morning in the salon, which was super cute and a fun part of the day where they hung out in robes, helped with each other’s makeup, and got super excited for the day! The guys hung out at their suite in the morning and chilled out, received some awesome gifts from Jon, and took in the fact that he was about to get married!

There was so much love throughout the day, from Rachel’s father walking her down the aisle to the toasts that made us all cry from Rachel’s sister and Jon’s best friend. I loved the details of the day, like the engagement photos up on the fireplace in the reception space, which had such a cozy home feel to the polished plank of wood as their signed keepsake! They incorporated nature so well throughout there day!

One moment I will never forget is at the end of the night during their night portraits (always a fun way to wrap of the night and get a few more kisses in there!), Jonathan asked me to show him how to take a picture on my camera! I don’t usually let those babies off of my body, but he was so excited about giving it a shot, and he totally NAILED it! I got to hold my light for him while he crafted the perfect angle and directed his wife (yes!!!! so fun to call them husband and wife!) to pose and smile for him. It was seriously so cute, and the behind the scenes photos make me so happy! I love having that kind of friendship with my couples, it seriously means the world!!

Their Love Story

These two met in college a little over 8 years ago! They would see each other on campus casually as they were out to eat or hanging with friends. Rachel was on the ultimate frisbee club at the time and when she went to the meetings, it happened to be right next to Jon’s apartment, so she would spot him there! He finally, one day, made a move to come talk to her! Rachel was soon welcomed into his friend group, and from day one, Jon kept Rachel laughing nonstop.

Rachel said that she totally knew there was something super special about him and she could tell that he was a shy, sensitive, deep, emotional guy. She loved his blue eyes hiding under his hoodie. Talking regularly turned into hanging out together more and more from grabbing food on campus to studying in the library to biking or walking at the park! They had the cutest first date and proposal that you can read more about while you scroll through their rainy Notebook-style engagement session here!

Rachel and Jon,

Thank you for your sense of adventure and love for the outdoors. I adore all of the photos we’ve created together from your rainy sesh to the stunning mountaintop views at your wedding. I’m honored and grateful to know you both and to have been a part of this big day with you! Your love is so strong, and I can’t wait to see where life takes you from you. Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hlasney! Love you two bunches! xoxo
