Their Session: Jockey Hollow, Morristown, NJ

I’ve been daydreaming about getting these two in front of my camera ever since I met them at my amazing couple, Lauren & Javier’s, wedding last summer! Rob and my bride, Lauren, are brother and sister, so it was an honor getting to work with him and his now-wifey a little over a year later! After seeing how adorable her and Rob were on the dancefloor last summer, I just knew they’d crush it in front of the camera! I was so excited that they were available for this playful, boho Jockey Hollow session!
This session was for a sweet mentoring babe, Nadine of Nadine Marie Photography! We spent the afternoon chatting about everything from marketing and branding to camera settings and everything in between! What I love so much about these mentoring sessions is how truly in-depth we can dive into any current pain points and struggles you may be dealing with in your biz right now. It’s dedicated time to get answers, goal set, and take action on your dreams!
This session was incredibly special to Jess and Rob – they’ve been thrown a curveball with their wedding plans, and everything they had dreamt of for their big day had to change due to COVID-19. However, they planned the most STUNNING and romantic backyard boho wedding with thrifted decor and their closest family to celebrate! They tied the knot just a few days after this session, and they told me that through all of the craziness of planning, this session reminded them that there IS something to celebrate. It was the reminder of their love and marriage that they needed during a stressful, uncertain time. <3

Their Love Story

Jess told me, “Rob and I met in college. We went to Towson University in Maryland. I was a little baby freshman and he was top dog/frat star on campus.  This is also where his career in music began, so at this time he was busy djing and promoting (he hates when I call it that lol) local shows and selling tickets to college kids to go to these shows. He hired some of my guy friends to help him with the promoting and selling, and then I started to do the same.  What I didn’t realize at the time was that apparently… hiring me was solely all part of a plan to get to know me. At one point, he was driving me to my first mandatory meeting for sorority recruitment and told me to ditch it and come on a date with him. I laughed in his face – totally thought he was messing with me and never ever ever thought someone like him would be interested in little freshman me. While he was completely immersed in his “frat boy” life, he couldn’t have been more opposite. The most polite, respectful, kind man I had ever met. We loved the same music and activities and his positivity and constant happiness were contagious.
Fast forward to our first kiss…….. we were both out in a club in Baltimore with our friends. He was buddies with the photographer working that night so as a way to bust Rob’s chops… he snagged a picture of our first kiss?!?! Now we have that photo forever… little did that photographer know! It’s the most special thing I own. The rest was history!!! The room was spinning in slow motion and as weird as that sounds… we both felt it. That was 8 years ago and now we are engaged!” Major chills, right?! I just love how cool it is that the photographer snagged a photo of their first kiss – they’ll have that to cherish forever!

Nadine,

Oh my goooooodness, girlfriend! You are on fire. I am so beyond excited to see the next steps of this journey and where you take it! I know your big dreams and goals are more than attainable, and I’m so humbled to get to share in a small piece of it all! Thank you for taking the day to learn and grow with me! Keep crushing it!!! ALSOOO, thank you for introducing me to Jockey Hollow! I can’t wait to go back and explore more, it’s so beautiful!

Jess and Rob,

Ahhh, I couldn’t be happier for you two. I know your wedding plans may have changed, but I can see how strong your love is and know that that’s all that truly matters. Thank you for taking the time to have some fun with us. I know how stressful wedding planning can be, and throwing a pandemic in the mix doesn’t help, so we appreciate you two being so up for a good time with us! I hope you add these photos to your collection of many years of love and laughter. Love you both bunches!! xo
