Their Session: New Hope, PA

Oh my goodness, Rachel and Sam’s summer New Hope engagement session was an absolute dream for so many reasons!! Where to begin?! Rachel and Sam went to my high school, so I’ve seen their love story grow over the years into the incredible relationship they share now! Their engagement session was the first time seeing them in a few years, and it truly felt like hanging out with old friends! Their connection is built on such a strong friendship, which made for the most playful and sweet moments! Plus, they brought along their french bulldog, Leon, who was the absolute star of the show! His wild and adorable energy had us cracking up the entire time!

The New Hope session covered all the bases from nature to downtown vibes! Our original plan was to meet at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve, but unfortunately, they were closed by the time our session was going to start! We pivoted to a little farmstead across the street that ended up being a perfect alternative that matched the vibe of their wedding venue, Welkinweir Estate, perfectly! With historic stone buildings, grazing sheep, and blooming wildflowers, these cuties soaked in allll the feels of their engagement! Then, we headed to the iconic downtown area in New Hope, PA, which was so much fun at sunset! The streets full of charming homes, stores, and hidden gems made for incredible backdrops no matter where we turned. We meandered through the downtown and stopped wherever looked cool from the porch of a restaurant, down by the water to pop champagne, and over to the Logan Inn for drinks! The Logan Inn’s downstairs was the perfect way to round out the night with some vibey flash photos and cocktails to celebrate! They enjoyed a nice dinner together after we finished taking pictures, which made for a meaningful date night from start to end!

Their Love Story

Sam and Rachel started dating during their senior year of high school and have been together ever since. During college, Sam visited Rachel from Rutgers to Richmond every other week, and they made it through years of long distance! He even came to Paris while she studied abroad! They chose the name Leon for their furbaby, which is a nod to their love of France! Sam planned a beautiful indoor picnic in Jacksonville, Florida (due to a hurricane happening at the time) to propose to his high school sweetheart! It was a gorgeous set up overlooking incredible views of the area as they celebrated their engagement!
