Their Session: Big Brook Park, Marlboro, NJ

I have to give a big shout out to my dad who referred Alicia and Max to me to be their wedding photography! On top of the many things my dad does, he is an actor and a playwright, and as it turns out, Alicia’s mom actually acted in one of my dad’s plays! So, when Alicia and Max got engaged, my dad pointed them right my way by way of Alicia’s mother! So cool! You never know who you will meet or how these amazing couples will land in your inbox, so it’s really exciting when we have a personal connection from the start!

Big Brook Park was such a cool location for their session with all of the tall grassy fields, rolling hills, and serene pond views! There were so many options to play with! Alicia and Max wanted to include their pup in their session too, so their mom tagged along to be their personal dog-walker! It was so nice to get to see Alicia’s mom again – I could see just how much it meant for her to be included in this special moment with her daughter!

Their Love Story

Alicia and Max met while they were in college, as they had many of the same friends, but it wasn’t until a year or two later that they started dating. They both had been crushing on each other for a while, but it was Max who made the first move and asked Alicia on a date! For their first date, their plan was to have dinner at a restaurant, but Max accidentally got super lost driving to the restaurant! Even though they were over an hour late to dinner, Alicia was not phased AT ALL and she told me that, “Max says he knew he was all in because I was super calm when we got lost and acted like it was no big deal. For me, it was that even during an endless and sort of stressful car ride, conversation flowed super easily, it felt like I had known him forever.” Chills, anyone?!

I couldn’t be happier that we all got to connect through our parents, and I had SUCH a fun time hanging out with you two! Even though the day of your session seemed a bit gloomy at first, you two TOTALLY embraced it and went with the vibe, which I love!! You both were so lit up from being together and I am loving those fun and moody images we got! I seriously cannot wait for your beachy wedding in Asbury Park next year! Woot woot!
