OMG where do I even start with these two beautiful humans?! Everything about this session was what my little photographer heart loves – adventure, nature, and the mushiest lovers! These two did not hesitate when I mentioned that engagement sessions can feel like date nights. They chose this location because it was the first camping trip they ever went on together, which made it all so much more special getting to revisit with them!
We started their sesh with the canoes, which were adorable and also slightly terrifying! The wind was so strong that it took them waaay farther away than any of us were expecting, but they rowed their butts off to get back! Engagement session or full workout?!
Then, we went on a little scenic hike up the mountain to get to the lookout spot where they set up camp that first time! We spent the time chatting about their lives, their wedding, and so much more. I’m so glad we built in that extra time to hike and just get to connect as friends before hopping back into all the cute pictures!
The view from the top of the mountain was so stunning and I was just in awe that good ol’ New Jersey had something this perfect to offer! I love that these two value nature, the outdoors, and being together, so they embraced that entirely for their session!
We set up camp with a tent, adorable little blanket, a fire, and some wine in mugs! 😉 They snuggled, laughed, and made new memories in a location that already held so much meaning to their story. It was truly such an inspiring session creatively for me and I had so much freaking fun getting to know Danielle and Tony even better!
Danielle and Tony’s story of how they met is one that will always really stand out to me. They met when they were only in the fourth grade, but it wasn’t until their junior year of high school that they started dating. They were together for two years and took a little time apart in college. Danielle and Tony kept in contact for a while and would occasionally see one another while they were both home, but eventually they both got into new relationships and didn’t end up seeing each other for about four years.
One day, Danielle saw one of Tony’s pictures on Instagram and liked it. When Tony saw her name pop up, he said, ‘My heart dropped into my stomach when I saw you liked my picture’ and he immediately knew that he was still in love with her no matter how much time had passed. How freaking cute are they?! Tony didn’t have Danielle’s phone number anymore, so in an effort to get in contact with her, he texted a bunch of random numbers from memory, hoping one was hers! That didn’t work, so Tony messaged Danielle on Snapchat and they started reconnecting from there!
One day, they decided to meet up for Tony to help Danielle with her Fantasy Football draft (side note: she was just doing it for him to hang out with her)! They met up at a restaurant after work and ended up staying until it closed! Everything felt just so natural and right with them, so the occasional dates turned into days of hiking and weekend trips, and soon enough, into actually dating again! <3
You two make my heart melt. Seriously, I look at these images and I’m in awe of your love. It’s so tangible and wildly beautiful to witness you two together. Thank you for being so open, genuine, and a blast to be with. I’m so so thankful to be the one who gets to document these huge moments in your lives, it’s so humbling. Love you two like craaazy!!! Congratulations on your engagement! Now, let’s get married!!!

My wife and I love this couple. You have captured the true essence of their relationship, they are truly happy. I know this because Danielle is my daughter. I love that they use nature to create a good time, and make memories. That’s the way love is supposed to be. Two people sharing time together and nothing else matters. Thank you Tori I can’t wait to see the next episode of Danielle and Tony.
