Their engagement session: Jockey Hollow, Morristown, NJ

I hope this Jockey Hollow engagement session makes you smile as much as I did while shooting it! Erica and Joe love the outdoors and wanted a woodsy vibe for their session. Jockey Hollow was the perfect location with that rustic nature feel! And of course, dog-friendly, so they could include their sweet pup, Sadie! I love that the session took place in the fall… feeling extra romantic as they’ll be getting married around this time next year. Erica and Joe are so much fun and truly are some of the funniest people I’ve ever met; they could not stop laughing together and making me crack up! As an extra fun touch, they brought a chocolate cake to share, only to realize they had forgotten utensils. So instead, they dove right in with their hands and even smashed it in each other’s faces at the end! We literally had the most fun every minute of this session!

Their love story

They had their first date on the day after Christmas in 2015! The night started with dinner at a small Mexican restaurant (shoutout to the chips + guac!) Erica remembers glancing up at Joe and thinking, “How did he finish his meal that fast and should I tell him he has cheese hanging from his beard?” 🤣 Joe remembers how beautiful Erica looked and that she was the same genuinely funny person who he had been chatting up for the last month while she recovered from knee surgery! Next, they grabbed peppermint mocha coffees on their way to the movie theater. Erica says the movie was so boring that “Joe fell asleep… although he’ll deny it!” But that didn’t sway them from being very much interested in each other. As they say, the rest is history!
These foodies enjoy going to their favorite restaurants for date night and love pairing dinner with another activity like a relaxing walk, movie, or bowling. Just spending time with them during this session, it’s clear these two know how to have an amazing time no matter what they’re doing together!
