Get ready for this rustic fall Rode’s Barn wedding! Madeline and John share such a sweet love and they put that first throughout the day, even with the crazy windy weather, the drizzle of rain, and dark skies. It only fueled the party that much more! Seriously, nothing could stop these two from enjoying this major milestone!
Morning mimosa races set the tone for the day! Their family has these races to see who can drink their mimosa the fastest. It was so much fun watching this happen throughout the morning. Madeline’s dad gave us a tour of the house, including their cool furniture, family photos, and many little decorations they’ve collected over the years. It made me feel like family- and I knew we were heading for a great celebration with this sweet party!
Madeline and John really put family first, which was apparent in so many little details of the day. Madeline’s sister officiated the wedding, but when she was feeling a bit sick, they all sat down with her to finish the ceremony without hesitation. Madeline and John were so excited to be married finally, they happily sat together for the ring exchange and first kiss. Even in the biggest moments, this family puts each other first <3
It was a dreary October day that made Madeline want to stay in bed! John was pushing dinner reservations trying to convince Madeline to get up and get dressed. But she was determined to stay in!
Then, Madeline received a call from her mom asking if they’d like to come over for dinner and that Madeline’s grandmom was there. John knew she wouldn’t say no to seeing her grandmom! Madeline agreed but decided to go in her pajamas when John says, “you’re going in your pajamas?” Madeline continues, “I was like ya? We’re going to my parents’ house and he was just like really short with me and hit me with an “ok.”
Madeline noticed everyone was acting super weird when they arrived, but she pushed any thoughts of a proposal out of her head. When her mom directed her to the sunroom, she saw John in the middle of a rose petal heart, with her whole family surrounding her. Their pup, Dobby, was included with a bandana that read, “Will you marry my dad?” With that, John got down on one knee and proposed! Madeline later found out John planned the whole proposal with her family, which made it that much more special! Even if she was in her pajamas 😉
