This little snowy styled shoot was such a surprise, and I couldn’t be more thankful that this beautiful gal, Tammy, came to my rescue! My dad had bought this gorgeous bouquet from Farmgirl Flowers for my mom for her birthday. The flowers were starting to open up, they smelled amazing, and I just knew I needed to photograph them in some way. I had such a busy week but knew I had to take advantage of these florals, so I posted on Instagram looking for a model for a quick 30-minute shoot the next morning. It was SO last minute (I think I posted at 9 or 10 pm), so I figured nobody would even see the post in time for an 8:30 am shoot!
I set my alarm for 6 am to see if anyone responded and throughout the night, I got so many kind-hearted messages from people all over saying they wish they could model for this shoot, but they have xyz in the way. Or they were not in the same state. Or they didn’t have a white dress. Nothing seemed to line up, so I was convinced I was going to doll myself up and try to take pretty pictures in the snow of myself as a fake lil bride model. I can’t imagine that would have gone well, and thankfully, I didn’t have to find out. Tammy, who I photographed anniversary photos for of her and her boyfriend back in October, texted me around 7 am and asked if I still needed someone. I told her I literally could squeeze in maybe 20 minutes, which was perfect because it was FREEZING with this first snowfall, and she immediately started getting ready. She had an adorable Free People dress, dolled herself up, and drove on over as quickly as she could. I felt SO freaking honored and humbled that she would go out of her way to make this little shoot happen with me.
And boy, I am SO glad she did. She killlllled the modeling game here. She embraced the temperatures and soggy ground (Hunter Boots, for the win!) and looked absolutely adorable showing off this perfect bouquet, flowy, dainty dress, and sweet smile! I seriously am in awe of how many photos we captured in about 20 minutes (we both would have been icicles had we stayed out any longer), and how flawless Tammy looked. She is so natural and fun in front of the camera, so I just got to shoot as much and as quickly as I could.
I am SO excited to share this shoot on my blog. It was such a great reminder to do creative shoots for myself every once in a while. When I’m in the heart of busy season, it was so refreshing to create something just for myself and for fun. I’m hoping to do a lot more of this in 2019, for sure! Tammy, thank you, thank you, thank you!!! You are such a dream to work with, and I am so grateful to know such a kind soul. You rock, girl! And a huge thank you to Farmgirl Flowers, Free People, and Hunter Boots for having such amazing products that helped make my snowy bridal-inspired shoot possible! Xoxo
