If creating content feels exhausting or you’re tired of your outdated headshot, a personal brand session will help give your business a huge boost in so many ways! Everyone is usually just excited to update their old headshot, but truthfully, a personal brand session is capable of doing so much more for your business than that.
Here are the top ways you can use personal brand photography to update and elevate your business, so you can take full advantage of the pictures you receive in your gallery!

Do a sweep of all your social channels and give the profile pictures a refresh! Whether you choose the same headshot for every platform or a different picture for each, you’ll know your profiles feel cohesive and consistent across the board! This is typically the first change my clients make when they get their gallery.
Bonus tip: get some engagement out of it – post your top 3-4 favorite images to your stories and ask for your audience to vote on their favorite! Your people will love being involved in such a fun decision like this, and you may be surprised at the answers!
Don’t forget about headers/banner photos on Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.
This one almost feels too obvious, but website updates are a must to keep your online presence fresh! Outdated images on a website make potential clients question if you’re still in business.
Your home page is a lot more memorable if you can put a face to the name of your business early on, so add your pictures to that home page ASAP!
Of course, your About page is the obvious spot for updated headshots. It’s also a great opportunity to share some of those fun personality pictures from your gallery, too!
Landing Pages/Sales Pages are also a great place to use your images to bring personality in and to build trust on an email list opt in page or an online course sales page!
Bonus Tip: Your personal brand only shines if you let it, so get creative with how you weave these images into your website – they don’t only belong on certain pages. They can be used on every page to create cohesion across the board.
A close-up photo of your hand typing on the computer? Perfect for the ‘process’ or ‘how it all works’ section on your experience page. A celebratory photo of you sipping champagne? Sounds ideal for a contact page to celebrate them taking the next step. A detail of the unique wallpaper in your home office? What a cute background for text to be placed on top of!
We always need images to fill in for blog posts, so what better way than to use your own branded images?! We capture plenty of on-brand and personalized stock images, which are great filler pictures when you don’t want to use a photo of your face!
Bonus Tip: Your images don’t have to stand alone – they also make great backgrounds for infographics and text overlays!
You can’t talk about blogs without talking about Pinterest, right?! Enable “rich pins” and share images directly from your blog post to Pinterest, or create your own Pin designs using Canva and link to your blog posts! People love pinning and clicking on beautiful images, so let yours shine!
Most business owners struggle with running out of content to post (or what to use as Reels/Tiktok covers), but with your new library full of on-brand images, you’ll be stocked up for months with great content to share! THIS is one of the biggest reasons why my clients plan a personal brand session in the first place – they need more social media content!
People buy from people. Sharing your face often builds so much trust with your audience. Pair those consistent posts with showing up on your stories, and you’re bound to see great results on socials!
This is for the YouTubers and video content creators! Whether you’re making thumbnails to draw attention to your newest video or need graphics to pop up on the screen, your brand images are full of great images to pull from.
Bonus Tip: Try Canva’s ‘Remove Background’ tool to cut out a part of a photo for graphics!
We always need images to fill in our newsletters, so pop your face in there, use those flat lay/detail images, or any behind the scenes content that’s relevant to your email!
If you have a freebie or opt-in for your list, make sure to update the images in the downloadable guide, as well!
It’s such a simple change, but you can update the image in your email signature for that added personal touch!
Printed marketing materials are super effective and handy, especially if you’re at a networking event, vendor market, sending mail/packages, or even at one-on-one meetings with clients! Update the imagery for your pamphlets, business cards, brochures, signage, etc.
Bonus Tip: Choose your favorite headshot for speaking events, since they often ask for a photo when sharing their speaker lineup! Your headshot may be used on their website, social media, or on the big screen at the event itself!
All of the resources you provide to your clients should be on-brand, cohesive, and up to date! Think about all of the guides, PDFs, hidden websites, etc. that you send to your clients. Add in your images to help the full client experience feel elevated!
I know this may feel like a lot, but these are all little changes that make a BIG impact! Start with a few updates at a time (socials & website are always the top picks), and soon enough, all of the places your brand shows up will be refreshed!
