Their Session: In-Home & Roosevelt Park in Edison, NJ

Kira and Arjun celebrated their anniversary by capturing their love in their first apartment together! I absolutely love all of the sentimental touches and thoughtfulness that went into planning this session! Kira ordered in some pizza and grabbed some Coca Cola for them to enjoy because that’s their fave!! I loved how comfortable they could be just snuggling up on the couch, playing What do you Meme in their bedroom, or hanging on the balcony! They told me about the meaningful decor like the handmade paper flowers that Kira’s brother had gifted to them that hung on the wall or the Morty toy from when they first went to Dave and Busters and Arjun had won it for Kira!

It was so fun getting to know these two as a couple because I had already known Kira from her portrait session we did a little while ago! It’s so clear how much these two adore each other and how silly and fun they are together. It means so much to me when my couples let me into their relationships and their homes to create these meaningful photos! 🙂

For sunset, we headed on over to Roosevelt Park which was super close by and got to explore the area together! There were some really awesome little spots, but it was so nice to see how the comfort they felt inside was carried through even when we weren’t in their home. They were so easy to photograph and just loved every minute of being together. Such a good sesh!!!

Their Love Story

When I asked them what they love most about one another, here’s what they said! Arjun said: “aw MAN THIS IS GONNA BE LONG UGHHH…..she’s just the best person in the world and makes me laugh all the time while we stay up and watch all these tv shows and movies with her. And I can’t wait to travel the world with her. I have more to say actually..I can just talk to her about anything for hours and she’s just my best friend.” So freaking sweet!!! Kira said, “I think we shared a past life together and that we’ve loved each other before and that’s why we love so intensely now. Oops that wasnt a quality, but more of how I feel about him haha!” I can’t help but smile when I rewrite their responses because they are just so genuine and precious.

Kira told me how they met so many years ago: “I first saw Arjun at my sister’s music recital. They were covering rock songs and he was playing the drums. The music students met up at a pizza place after and had invited me. Arjun was 15 and I was 17. I started to crush on him when he started working out and lost his emo hair look, haha! Then I found out that he had always crushed on me for a couple years. We started dating when he was 19 and I was 21. 😀 <3” They’ve been loving on each other ever since and it truly shows!
