Their Engagement Session: Merchant Exchange Building, Old City Philadelphia, PA

Ahhh, when Kristen and Kyle chose their Old City Philadelphia engagement session locations, I was over the moon! Since moving to Philadelphia, we’ve explored a bit but still have so much more to see! Getting to photograph the cutest love birds in these gorgeous cobblestone streets and against the Merchant Exchange Building was so romantic. Kristen and Kyle have the most amazing best friend connection, and you can just tell how much they adore one another from the moment you meet them!

I loved getting to hear more about their son and dogs, what they love to do for fun in their free time, and all the details about wedding planning! This session felt like a date night exploring Old City Philadelphia with their casual third-wheel photographer along for the ride! 🙂

Their Love Story:

Kristen & Kyle have been together since March of 2009! They met through mutual friends when she was a freshman in high school! They instantly connected and became close friends!! Kristen took him to her senior prom, and they were best friends before they started dating! They now have an incredible and adorable son who is their whole world!

She told me all about the proposal, and it is just the sweetest! She said, “When we found out we were pregnant, we knew we needed to buy a house for more space & to have a home to make our own! We bought a fixer-upper, and the main room we focused on was the nursery. Kyle worked so hard to make it exactly how I envisioned it!

The day we brought our son home from the hospital, Kyle asked me if I wanted to take Lucas upstairs to see his room. When we went upstairs into the nursery, Kyle had the ring inside the crib! I knew it was coming soon since we have been together so long and have been talking about it, but I had no idea it would be that day! We both were nervous but it was so sweet when he asked me to marry him while I was holding our son!” How incredible is that?! What a memorable moment for so many reasons! <3

These two love coming into the city for cocktails and dinner or going to their local bar for beers and bar food! They LOVE going out and doing things as a family. They’re big Philly sports fans and love going to games together! Now, their son Lucas gets to join them!

They booked their dream intimate wedding in Mexico for 2023, and are planning a super romantic, modern, boho day! Kristen said, “I want to remember all of the joy from our wedding day & always remember where we started and how far we have come as a couple!”
