Their Session: Allendale, NJ

One of the biggest honors in the world is being asked to photograph a session for another photographer! Jessah and I met through Rising Tide Society’s Tuesdays Together meetings that we both attend in northern New Jersey! It’s a monthly meeting for local creative small business owners. When Jessah reached out to me to document her and her husband’s anniversary session back in their hometown, I was BEYOND humbled and so excited to start planning! These two nailed it from choosing a meaningful location to their love story to being 110% all in for any of the crazy ideas I had for their session! I think it totally paid off ;)!

We caught the most beautiful sunset in this perfect tall fluffy field and explored around their high school, where they met! We stopped at the spot where they first laid eyes on one another (can you believe they remember that perfect moment back in the hallway of their high school?!) and the classroom they had homeroom together! It was so special getting to see so many years of love and connection right in front of me. These two are so in sync, always cracking each other up, and just entirely themselves. It was such a blast getting to hang out with them and explore Allendale!

Their Love Story

Jessah told me, “Jason says the first time he remembered me clearly was when he gave one of my friends at the time a book with a written note in it. I was with her and just watched them chat and was a bit confused by his presence. That was definitely the first time I really noticed him. He dressed in plain clothing and had an orange hat. We had seen each other around school before and after that. We ended up being in the same homeroom together where we started chatting little by little.”

These two just love any time they get to spend together, whether that’s sleeping in, snuggling with “mah babe, hanging out, being lazy with him, watchin somethin together and munchin on snacks =]” Too cute!! Jason describes Jessah as loyal and she describes him as honorable! <3 They both just love how much the other loves them so well and no matter what! 🙂

They’ve been together for over a decade, and Jessah’s favorite thing is that “I’m always with my best friend. Jason says that he always has a partner and I’m always there with him through everything and I always love him!” A decade of love is truly something so so special, and I loved getting to see that outpouring emotion during their session!
