Their Session: Hickory Run State Park, White Haven, PA

I had so much fun getting to explore this gorgeous area in Pennsylvania that I had never been to! Hickory Run State Park had everything from gorgeous hiking and waterfalls to open fields and trails! Taryn and Spencer brought their adorable daughter, Bowie, to their session and she was such a little adventurer! She was all about playing in the waterfall and running around the fields, which was honestly too cute to handle! They also used their session to announce that Bowie is going to be a big sister come February 2021! I love that this session tied in so much of what these two love – family, nature, and just being together!

Their Love Story

Taryn and Spencer met when they were around 13-14 years old! They went to the same high school, and Spencer was pretty close with Taryn’s brother! They got pretty close over the years and had been friends ever since. They went their seperate ways during college and they continued to grow individually. They would see each other every so often and were still always friends. She says, “Never ever would I have thought in a MILLION YEARS we would be dating, getting married AND have a baby!” Through every up and down they’ve been through, they’ve realized that they’re so much better when they are together than apart.

Taryn told me, “Spencer is one of the best guys anyone could ever know. I’m not just saying this because I’m biased, he really is! He defines the phrase, “he will take his shirt off his back for you” I probably don’t even deserve him! He’s so laid-back and calming, free-spirited and hippie-like, whereas I’m so worried all the time and anxious! I’m SOOO emotional so prepare for tears! He keeps me sane, he is my gravity! We also have a lot in common hobby-wise, which helps us stay busy all the time. We both love to be in nature and always doing something physical like hiking, canoeing, or even laborious work! We were cutting a tree down together one day and his friend said it was the best couple building exercise he’s ever seen!! Spencer has a whole other love for music so we are constantly going to festivals and shows! I love craft beer and supporting local breweries so we find ourselves there with Bowie!” I just love how these two have found their rhythm together in life and balance each other out so well! They’re best friends and partners taking on the world together.

They also told me all about how Spencer proposed! October 1st is not only the day they were taking their maternity photos with a close photographer friend of mine, Daniella, but also it’s Taryn’s birthday! She says, “That day, I had actually forgotten the baby shoes I wanted to bring for the pictures, so my parents came to meet us at the sunflower field to bring them. Little did I know, they were coming anyways because they knew the whole time. SO mid-picture he got down on one knee, and next thing I know I’m engaged! It was so surprising and so great that it was caught on camera, and now I can never forget when our engage-iversary is haha!”
