Ahhh, it’s been such a dream getting to work with these two because we’ve known each other for years! I was so honored when Amanda and Tommy booked me for their big day in December, and it’s been so fun getting to plan everything with them ever since! The beach is such a big part of their relationship and one of their favorite places to be, so it only made sense to snag some quiet, sunrise beach time away with them in Belmar, NJ! I’m so not a morning person most days, but waking up for this gorgeous, hazy sunrise and playing around with these two was such a dream sesh! It was so relaxed, calm, and really just felt so true to them!

Tommy and Amanda met in Italian class back in 10th grade. He knew her cousin first, so she always knew him as Megan’s friend! They reconnected while they were apart in college and just started their relationship as friends! Eventually, they started dating while long-distance and have been together ever since! 🙂

When I asked them about how Tommy proposed, Amanda gave me the whole play-by-play! She said, “Tommy tore his Achilles at a soccer game on a Sunday night, leaving us in the ER until 2 am when I HAD to go to work the next day because the other nurse was out. I stuck with him the whole time and went in the next day. On my way home from work, Tommy kept calling me asking me where I was, I told him I was getting him some Wawa on the way home so he could have something a little special after everything that happened. I got home and didn’t see anyone. In the back, the dogs were outside with the door propped open, but still no Tommy. When I shouted, I heard his reply from the basement, so I ran down thinking he fell down the staircase letting them out!! I ran down the steps and frantically asked if he was okay. He was on the ground crying and I immediately panicked and started crying, trying to reassure him he’s okay. He started saying that he was so sorry, and I genuinely thought he hurt himself even worse. Then he went on to say just in the last 24 hours he saw how much I truly care about him, and that he’s sorry this isn’t how he wanted to do this, and then he whipped out the ring box and opened it! I was like WAIT WHAT! I thought they were sad tears, but they were happy ones. I thought he was on the ground cause he fell, but it’s because he was (trying to) kneel. The ring was in the basement, and yes, he couldn’t actually get back up after that, so he kept calling because he was literally waiting on the floor for me!!! I still really can’t believe it went down like that. It’s so memorable that’s for sure!” How sweet is that?! I love how Tommy realized that through hardship, Amanda would always be there for him. Such a special proposal story!

These two foodies love spending date nights cooking and staying in! Wine and a movie and a nice walk with the doggies is usually their kind of night, and maybe ending with late-night sushi when they stay up late enough! Tommy adores how patient and kind Amanda is and Amanda is so grateful for Tommy’s caring and nurturing nature. I love how these two balance each other out so well, and truly just seen like best friends over everything! <3 She can’t get enough of how supportive Tommy is no matter what. He makes her feel like she can always be honest no matter how she’s feeling. Tommy values how selfless Amanda is and loves that she wants to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of.

I can’t wait to be celebrating with you two in just a few months at your Christmas-chic winter wedding! It’s going to be such a cozy, wintery dream!
