Their Wedding Day: Silver Birches Resort, Hawley, PA

July 26th was an absolutely incredible, special, emotional wedding day on Lake Wallenpaupack. Brittney and Ryan’s Silver Birches Resort wedding was full of so much love, support, and AMAZING dancing!! The lake that they got married on holds so much significance to their love story, and I’m so excited to share that in both words and images with you! Brittney and her ladies had a relaxing morning hanging out at Ryan’s family’s lake house while the guys enjoyed a morning of drinks and hopping on the boat to head over to the venue! It was faster than driving. 😉

I adore the special details that made up their day, like the blue heart stitched into Brittney’s gown in memory of her father, the sweet cards they wrote to one another before their ceremony, the stunning polka-dotted veil Brittney wore, the butterfly release at the end of the ceremony, and the photo of Brittney and her father from when she was little resting on a chair at the ceremony! Every detail was so carefully picked from the florals, to the suspenders and floral ties, to the layered cookie cake for dessert! Ryan eating the cookie cake is a whole mood.

One moment I will never forget is their first dances. Brittney and Ryan held each other close as Brittney surprised him with a special voice recording of his grandmother’s voice, who passed away recently, at the end of their song. She recorded the conversation from when they called her to tell her they were engaged. Nobody knows she did this, nor had anyone heard the actual recording. With tears in my eyes, along with everyone’s in the room, Ryan and his mother then had their emotional first dance. That was only the start of all of the tears. Ryan then got on the microphone to remind Brittney that although her father couldn’t be there in person, she was not, never has been, and never will be alone. He surprised her with 4 different men in her life who came up one by one to slow dance with her. They cried, laughed, hugged, and danced with this sweet bride. Truly, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room.

Their Love Story

These two met a few years ago when Brittney and her sister, who was dating a friend of Ryan’s at the time, went to Ryan’s parents’ lake house for the 4th of July. Brittney and Ryan went to the same high school, but she didn’t remember him! He always remembered her, though, and had always wanted to talk to her. Once July 4th rolled around, Ryan finally got to talk to her! Brittney was glad she didn’t know he was interested in her before she agreed to go with her sister, or else she would have been wayyy too nervous to go to the lake!

This lake holds so much significance to their love story from the day they met, to the day Ryan proposed, to the day they vowed forever with one another!

Ryan proposed to Brittney on Dock Day at the lake, which is when everyone docks their boats for the season. Brittney and Ryan walked over to the end of the dock and spent some time together; however, someone they knew from the area who is always taking pictures, came over and started taking pictures of them. Brittney didn’t really think twice, because she knew this woman always had a camera in hand! With someone there to capture the moment, Ryan got down on one knee and asked for Brittney’s hand in marriage! After the initial surprise, Brittney realized that all of their friends and family were overlooking the dock and watching the exciting moment!
