Their Wedding Day: Bear Brook Valley, Fredon Township, NJ

When Amanda and Matt envisioned their winter Bear Brook Valley wedding day, they dreamt of a winter wonderland. They just knew the snow would add a touch of magic to their celebration. Nature decided to play along as a gentle snowfall came down just before their first look. It was such a picturesque backdrop for their portraits, and thankfully, everyone was up for heading outside for photos!

Amanda and Matt’s bond is undeniable; they truly are each other’s best friends. From the moment Matt turned around to see his bride-to-be, laughter and tears flowed freely. These emotions set the tone for a day filled with genuine, heartfelt moments. It was clear these two keep the best company alongside them, because their loved ones truly showed up for them – snow and all! 🙂

Their ceremony in the stables was a rollercoaster of emotions with personal vows that had us laughing and in our feels all at once. And let’s not forget about the real star of the show – Shandy, their furbaby, who couldn’t get enough of the snow!

As day turned to night, the festivities kicked into high gear, culminating in an unforgettable dance floor. I will always say it – my Penn State couples always know how to party. Amanda and Matt’s wedding was no exception.

The energy was absolutely electric thanks to The Metropolitan Players who had the dance floor packed all night long! Amanda and Matt’s winter Bear Brook Valley wedding was a celebration of love in its purest form with memories built around laughter, tears, and snowflakes that they’ll cherish for years to come.

Their Love Story

It all started back at Penn State, where Matt and Amanda’s love story began with a swipe. As Amanda says, “it was love at first swipe.” I could tell from the moment these two first reached out that they had such a spark with one another, and that connection was so clear when we met up for their engagement session!

Their first date was meant to be a lunch date that Matt cooked for Amanda. They are big foodies who love cooking, so it was the perfect way to break the ice. However, they hit it off so well that they forgot about the food entirely! Instead, they spent the day chatting, laughing, and strolling to class together – stopping for a quick bite to eat on the way. They reconnected later that night and stayed up talking and getting to know each other until 5 am!

Matt proposed on their 5-year anniversary through an elaborate scavenger hunt at Penn State’s Arboretum with their closest friends. He created an entire maze of clues and hints that Amanda solved before finally seeing him and hearing the best question ever! Of course, it was a yes and they remembered it as the best day ever celebrating with all of their close friends in a location that holds so much meaning to their love story!

Matt shared with me that he “loves how Amanda is so supportive of her friends, considerate to everyone, and just flat-out hysterical. She can always make me laugh! She also is there for me no matter how bad a day I’m having. <3” It’s so true – they can make each other laugh with just a look or a little inside joke!

Amanda adores how Matt is there for her through the highest highs and the lowest of lows. She also said he “always knows how to make me laugh. He constantly surprises me every day in the different ways he shows me love.” How sweet are they?!
