Haldi: Hotel Du Village, New Hope, PA

I cannot rave enough about this colorful Hotel Du Village Haldi ceremony for my incredible couple, London & Neil! We kicked off a weekend of festivities and partying with this traditional prewedding ritual! Their wedding weekend started on Friday, so close friends and family gathered at one of their wedding venues on Thursday morning for Haldi! It was such a fun and exciting way to honor the traditions of their family and kick off the celebration!

With yellow decor lighting up the poolside event, close loved ones sang, toasted, and ate delicious food together! Haldi – meaning turmeric in Hindi – is meant for family to apply turmeric paste onto the couple! Nowhere is off limits, and as you scroll through these photos, you’ll see how completely covered in haldi Neil got! I LOVED seeing the excitement in everyone as they came up to the bride and groom, and how lovingly they applied the paste. It was such a special tradition to witness and document!

Delicious dosas, sambar, idli, medu vada, and more were served as guests mingled, reconnected, and partied! The kiddos from both sides of the family loved meeting each other and playing chase – so cute!! Loved getting to capture all these candid, natural moments between their families!

Their Love Story

Back in early 2017, London and Neil met on Tinder and went on a very successful first date! London invited Neil to hang out with her friends, and he ended up hanging out for the whole night! They both made such good first impressions on one another and realized this was something that was truly meant to be! They got engaged in Washington Square Park during a special day date in the winter.

These two love birds live in Manhattan with their 2 rescue furbabies – Ralphie and Roti! With their love of contemporary vintage style, they’ve made a cozy home on the Upper East Side with a beautiful view of the East River! When they’re not hard at work, they LOVE to travel and truly have been all over the world together always searching for a new brewery or a great hiking trail!
