Their Session: Long Island, NY

I had SO much fun getting to see all the thoughtful details in Brittany and Daniel’s home while photographing all their cuteness! They were such a blast since minute one. I love that they took my pro tip of drinking a bit beforehand! I know how nerve-wracking it can be to be in front of the camera for the first time, so having one of your favorite drinks on hand always helps! I was so glad they were up for everything from dancing and jumping up on each other in their living room to rolling around on their bed before heading out to the waterfront nearby! We caught the tail end of the sunset and some gorgeous blue hour as they roamed around on the docks and in the sand.

From their infectious laughter and smiles to their very last kiss that night, this session was truly one for the books! I’m so glad I could make the trip out to Long Island to capture this exciting time in their lives!

Brittany’s co-worker is married to one of Dan’s childhood friends! She had been saying Brittany and Dan would be great together for a while, and it took some convincing but Brittany finally agreed to be set up on a date! She had never been on a blind date before, so she was a little skeptical at first.

Their first date was set – they planned to meet at a nice Italian spot in Queens, New York! It was raining on the night of their first date, and Brittany took the subway all the way out to Astoria, Queens from Manhattan. When she got off the subway, Dan was standing at the bottom of the stairs with a big umbrella. So sweet!! When they arrived at the restaurant, she realized that Dan had already been there to reserve their table and order apps and wine ahead of time! They ended up staying and chatting until the restaurant closed, and as they say, the rest is history!

Brittany told me how Dan proposed! She said, “We don’t have any proposal photos or videos because it happened in our apartment! I had just gotten out of the shower, walked out and he was down on one knee. I was SUPER surprised. He said that he couldn’t imagine life without me, and asked if I would marry him. I was in shock and asked if he was serious and then he slid the ring on my finger!” What a perfect surprise!

These two are such a blast and always know how to have a good time. Their favorite date night is a concert – 90’s music is their favorite. Just this year they saw Goo Goo Dolls, Barenaked Ladies, OAR, Old Dominion (twice!), and Rob Thomas. For a more low key date night, they love a good wine and chocolate night and some type of true crime show!

When I asked Dan what he loved most about Brittany, he said it’s definitely the amount that she makes him laugh. He loves how he knows so clearly that he loves her so much just by looking into her eyes! Brittany loves, “how much he makes [her] laugh, how he supports [her] to take risks in [her] career, and how he does everything in his power to keep [her] safe.”

Thank you both for welcoming me into your adorable home and having such a blast with me! I had so much fun exploring your town a bit, checking out the waterfront, and getting to chat about everything from travels to wedding planning to living together and more! I’m SO beyond excited for your big day in 2021 – can’t wait to celebrate with you! xo Love ya both bunches!
