Their Wedding: Lakewood Country Club, Lakewood, NJ

I met Sarah back in high school, so I was suuuper honored when she asked me to be the one to document her big day! Her and Matt’s wedding was on such a beautiful fall day and I had so much fun hanging out with them and all of their friends! I spent the morning with Sarah and her bridesmaids as they sipped mimosas, broke down some dance moves, and watched as they had SO MANY special moments with her family! I loved every second of Sarah’s first look with her dad. It was such a sweet moment when he started to tear up and kissed Sarah’s hand and held his little girl close.

I truly adored all of the special dances and tributes that they incorporated into their reception! Sarah and her dad broke into a surprise choreographed father-daughter dance which was so awesome to witness – my dad and I did the same type of dance once and it was such a blast! Sarah also made sure to have a special dance with her mom, which was super emotional and sweet. They also finished off the dances with an honorary dance for their uncle who, sadly, passed away, by having a few family members dance with their aunt, switching off one by one. It was truly a beautiful tribute!

Their Love Story

Sarah and Matt met while they were both working at Saint Peter’s University! Matt was super shy at first, so Sarah made the first move! It wasn’t very long after their first date though, that they knew they would be inseparable! These two cuties LOVE the outdoors and love going to Rutgers Gardens for dates! It was on one of their very first dates there that Matt got down on one knee and popped the question! Afterward, they went to an amazing dinner at Sarah’s favorite restaurant to celebrate!

When I asked Sarah and Matt what their favorite qualities about each other were, their answers were so sweet! Being supportive of each other is SO important to Sarah and Matt and they both said how much they love that about each other! Matt loves Sarah’s ability to make him laugh and he says that she makes him happier than he’s ever been. Sarah told me that she loves how Matt is always able to make “a bad day better and a good day great,” and that he helps her strive to be the best person she can be!

I absolutely LOVED getting to capture your wedding day! You two were literally such a blast from the moment the day began all the way until you stepped onto the dance floor! I had so much fun getting to see your friends and family partying all night and it was really cool seeing some old friends from high school while I was there! I am SO excited that you two are finally married! Thank you for asking me to be a part of this exciting time in your lives, I absolutely loved getting to be your photographer!
