Their Wedding: Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres Cancun

I couldn’t be more excited to get Kristen and Kyle’s Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres Cancun wedding on my blog today! This was an absolute DREAM wedding for so many reasons. One of the most special ones is that Kristen is a photographer herself! It’s always the greatest honor getting to document another photographer’s big day. A verrrry close second reason is that they freaking flew me out to Cancun for the weekend to capture it all! I was speechless when I arrived at their gorgeous resort. I couldn’t be more grateful that they chose to have me there!

They kept their celebration intimate with around 25 of their closest loved ones – from best friends to family to their adorable son, Lucas! It was the perfect number of guests to keep the week so much fun and not too overwhelming!

Their day was a breeze with gorgeous sunny weather, a beautiful resort with endless photo opportunities, a special beach ceremony, and a reception on the beach under twinkling lights and the night sky. The party literally didn’t stop at any point, which was such a blast throughout the day. I loved getting to see how hyped up their friends and family were for them to get married! 🙂

They included some really special, memorable details into their wedding. I loved Kristen’s bouquet pin that honored her father who had passed along with a chair with his photo at the front of the aisle. Kristen and Kyle both wore Versace perfume, which looked so cute in photos! It’s going to be so special for years to come when they wear their scents on anniversaries and date nights!

I adored how they displayed their favorite engagement session photos in a guest book! A perfect keepsake from their big day. Right next to it sat a heart-shaped set of Tequila shot glasses for guests to take on their way into the reception! Such a great way to get the party started. The shots definitely didn’t end there – drinks flowed all night long!!

The few days we spent at the resort gave me memories I’ll cherish forever. I got to shoot this wedding with my best friend, Jen, which made it just that much more special and fun! It was so cool getting to meet K & K’s friends and family before the wedding, which helped everyone get a bit more comfortable for photos since they already knew us! You’ll have to scroll for alllll the resort goodness. I’ll be gushing about my first wedding of 2023 forever!

Their Love Story

Kristen & Kyle started dating in March 2009, and tied the knot in March 2023! Kristen instantly connected with Kyle when they met through mutual friends in high school, and they soon became the best of friends! She took him to her senior prom, and their friendship grew stronger and stronger before they started dating! Years down the road, they welcomed their sweet son, Lucas, who is their whole world!

Their proposal story went down in the sweetest way!! When they found out they were pregnant, they decided to buy a home for more space. They wanted a space to truly make their own! Their fixer-upper became their new big project, mainly focusing on the nursery first, of course! Kyle worked tirelessly to turn it into what Kristen envisioned!

She said, “The day we brought our son home from the hospital, Kyle asked me if I wanted to take Lucas upstairs to see his room. When we went upstairs into the nursery, Kyle had the ring inside the crib! I knew it was coming soon since we have been together so long and have been talking about it, but I had no idea it would be that day! We both were nervous but it was so sweet when he asked me to marry him while I was holding our son!” The sweetest way to welcome their son into their lives, right?! <3
