Their Session: Quinta da Regaleira – Sintra, Portugal

This Quinta da Regaleira Sintra couples session is the mini-est of all mini sessions, and also one of my proudest moments wrapped up into just a few images! On our recent winter trip to Portugal, Shawn and I took a day trip to the beautiful old town of Sintra (a MUST-see if you’re visiting). On our tour, we ventured to Quinta da Regaleira – a lush Renaissance-style manor house full of greenery and medieval architecture. I was in awe everywhere I turned and just WISHED I could photograph a couple here.

Luckily, I spotted the cutest couple taking pictures of each other, and I shoved any doubts aside and asked them if I could take their picture! They didn’t speak English, so I communicated with them by showing my Instagram account to them and trying to hand gesture that I wanted to take a few photos of them in this pretty area. Thankfully, they agreed and were SO playful in front of the camera. I demonstrated walking, kissing, and smiling at the camera to get some variety in this quick little session.

When we were home from our trip, I finally had a chance to upload the pictures. I knew it felt so quick in the moment, but checking the time stamps of the first and last images SHOCKED me. We shot for a whopping 31 seconds!! So fun to see what you can create in under a minute when you have a couple who is up for anything and a beautiful location!
