Their Session: Spruce Run Recreation Area, Clinton, NJ

This was such an incredibly fun day spent mentoring another amazing photographer and capturing such a sweet couple together! I hosted a giveaway for one of my full in-person mentoring sessions and Chelsea of Mood and Moon Photography was the winner! We planned a fun day hanging out at a cafe in Clinton, New Jersey where we chatted about all things business and photography! Then, we headed over to Spruce Run to photograph our amazing couple! It was so fun getting to dive deeper into her business to help her continue to thrive in her biz! She is absolutely crushing it, and it was so fun getting to connect with her!

Audrey and Clinton were our amazing models for the session, and they did not disappoint! These two were such naturals in front of the camera, and they made the session so much fun! Although their wedding plans have had to change due to the pandemic, they didn’t let that hinder their excitement toward marrying their best friend so soon! I’m so grateful these two came out to spend the evening with us – it always means so much when couples are willing to model and help my mentee get an amazing portfolio-building shoot in!

It was also super special getting to revisit Spruce Run – it was actually one of the first locations I ever shot at with one of my couples! So fun getting to check it out again years later!

Their Love Story

Clinton and Audrey met at Seton Hall University. They were both seniors and knew people in each of their friend groups but never knew each other! Their senior year, everyone went to a local bar on Thursday nights. They were finally introduced to one another and could not stop talking all night. Before they knew it, their friends were gone and it was just them two. Clinton ended up walking Audrey home and the rest was history!

Audrey told me all about the proposal! She said, “Clinton and I were dating for five years before he proposed. Our anniversary is November 14th and we always enjoyed going away to celebrate for the weekend. We both fell in love with the city of Boston and ended up celebrating our anniversary there for the last three years. Clinton and I went into the weekend without much plans and were looking to just adventure around the city. All Clinton told me was that we had dinner reservations on Saturday night and that he found a bar that by the hotel he wanted to go to for drinks beforehand. Looking back on the night I could tell he was nervous and was super persistent that we go to this bar but in the moment I was not suspicious at all! The bar was on the other side of “The Garden at Boston Commons” which he took me through. On our way I saw a woman being interviewed because she is “able to talk to squirrels” and I could not stop watching – I think Clinton wanted to kill me because he was pushing me towards “the spot” and I kept telling him “how many times will ever see a woman talk to squirrels?!” LOL. Finally we walked over a bridge where he pulled me to the side. Before I knew it he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. After finally saying yes – I heard cheering in the background and it was my closest friends and family. I was COMPLETELY shocked and so happy! 11/17/18 was the best day ever :)”
Their wedding was originally meant to be in April 2020. They postponed to July but ended up postponing it again due to COVID-19. She said, “I always imagined my wedding to be light and airy with candles everywhere. Now all I could want is my closest friends and family surrounding us, with lots of good food, drinks and music! Clinton is a big dancer so I know the music is VERY important to him. At the end of the day I am marrying my best friend and that is all I could ever hope for.”
Clinton is very caring and loving to not only Audrey but his friends and family. She knows she will always be loved and cared for by him just by the way he loves his mother and friends. He is always her biggest supporter and pushes her to be the best person she can be! Clinton said, “I love Audrey’s sense of humor – I know every day will be filled with laughs and good times because she’s around. I love Audrey’s kind heart – she is always giving of her time and self to me, the ones she loves, and the children she works with. She is a true example of selflessness and giving.” How precious are these two?!
