Their Session: Belmar Fishing Pier, NJ

For all my beachy couples, get ready – Jaime and Jason’s summer Belmar engagement session encompasses alllll the vibes of a perfect shore evening! We started at a spot they know well, the Silver Lake Gazebo, where they often pass on walks when they’re at their aunt’s beach house!

When I arrived early to scout the location, I realized the gazebo was entirely under construction. I’m talking tons of lumber, orange cones, a truck, and tarps! Jaime and Jason said, “We trust you and your magic!” so I knew they were down to make this work! They showed up with incredible energy and positivity, and their love was absolutely SHINING! The construction had nothing on them. I can’t get enough of how well-suited they are for each other, and it made photographing them a breeze!

Next up, they did an outfit change into casual jeans and t-shirts for the beach! At this point, I could tell they were warmed up to the camera (despite being nervous at first), so we could take advantage of the vastness of the beach! The Belmar fishing pier is an iconic spot that I’m officially obsessed with! Also, I felt so grateful that these two were up for running, jumping, splashing, and rolling around on the beach. We caught the most playful, romantic, and memorable moments to celebrate their engagement!

Their Love Story

Jaime and Jason met through a mutual friend and have been inseparable ever since their first date. They said, “We both fell in love quickly and so organically. We adore each other and we feel we are meant for each other.” They love going out for dinner and coming home to snacks in bed and quality time! Their guilty pleasure is gummy worms! Just being with each other after a long day is all they could ask for. In the summer, as I’m sure you could guess, they love spending weekends at the beach – their happy place!

Jaime shared about their beautiful proposal story! She said, “I had a small feeling that Jason was going to propose to me this year, I just wasn’t sure when. He asked me all sorts of questions about my dream proposal. And my answer was always, as long as my mom is there I will absolutely love it.” After sadly losing her father to cancer when she was only 5 years old, her mom truly took on the role of both mother and father. She said, “I always get her a father’s day and mother’s days gift. She’s a super woman and my best friend. Knowing this, Jason proposed to me in front of our parents, at our home at a time I would never expect just so my mom could be there to see it.” How incredibly special is that? 🙂
