Their Love Story: Brigantine Beach, NJ

Megan and Rocco celebrated their little one on the way with the most glowy sunset Brigantine beach maternity session! There was no sweeter way to honor this exciting milestone in their lives than at their shore house with their furbabies! I’m so glad they brought their dogs – they were SO cute and brought out all the smiles and laughter in Megan and Rocco!

We drove through a quiet neighborhood in Brigantine looking for a dreamy spot for the sunset, and luckily we found a little unused lot between homes that gave us an amazing view on the water! Possibly a little trespassing, but totally worth it for these shots! 🙂

The ultrasound and positive pregnancy tests were such simple and meaningful props! It was sentimental to see all the tests Megan took to make extra sure this news was actually TRUE! They couldn’t believe they were having a baby!!

Their Love Story

Rocco and Megan met at a Kansas City Chiefs game! He played professional hockey in KC for 5 years and that is where Megan is from. Their mutual friend who they always tailgate with before KC games also had season tickets to the hockey games! Their friend brought Rocco to the game where they ended up standing next to each other the entire game.

They made a bet with each other in the 4th quarter, which is how they exchanged numbers! Megan said, “Rocco lost the bet but he will tell you “it was all a part of his plan.” Haha he ended up asking me to go on our first date 2 days later! (Fun Fact: our first photo together is on the Jumbotron from that game)” How cute is that meeting story?!

Rocco went ABOVE AND BEYOND for their proposal. He told her they were going to a restaurant opening representing the hockey team and that two other hockey players and their wives would be going, as well.

She met up with him after a really rough day at work, so she was feeling really own! She said, “Little did I know the entire day and night were for me.” Kansas City is the City of Fountains, so they met up at a park known for one of its beautiful fountains. One of the wives who was joining happened to be newly pregnant, so he said they were going to go to this park to kill some time and take some pregnancy announcement photos (one of the other wives was a photographer)!

She said, “As we were sitting there watching them take photos, Rocco mentioned that we should take some for our scrapbook. (Back Story: we did our first summer together long distance as he came back to Philly for the off season and I stayed in KC. One day I received a package in the mail from him and he had made a scrapbook filled with all our memories together that season) I hesitantly agreed to the photo and as we were posing he pulled out a new scrapbook and the last page said August 31, 2019 the day Megan said (blank) to forever and had a spot for a photo. He then had a huge surprise party planned at a winery nearby after with all our family and friends.” UNREAL!!! Go, Rocco! Such amazing planning and the sweetest scrapbook surprise!

They’re looking forward to having a little one who is half of each of their favorite person – each other! “Family is everything to us and just being able to take them and show them all our favorite places in the world and introduce them to all our favorite people is going to be amazing. This world is so beautiful and being able to teach them about it will be the greatest adventure.”
