It’s been about a week since this session, and I still catch myself smiling when I think about how much fun these two are. I knew to expect some good laughs and adventure when Angela emailed me saying “we aren’t afraid to get in the water” and told me they were bringing me a pair of weighters for me to join them! They did not disappoint from David’s incredible posing to their crazy adorable pups to the sweetest love that they weren’t afraid to show off to the camera. I loved seeing them both light up as they Eskimo kissed and how easily they made each other laugh. There was such a beautiful moment when they were looking at each other while in the lake and David just pulled Angela in for a hug without me asking or prompting them to, and I think that is one of the most special parts of engagement sessions – it’s a few hours to spend just loving on each other and taking time to remember what this whole thing is about. It’s about those sporadic kisses and long hugs, falling in love every day over and over again, laughing with your best friend, and always knowing you have their hand to hold whether I’m asking you to run through a lake or snuggle up next to each other in the grass.
Angela and David met when they were 16 and working at the same Staples! The first thing she ever said to him was that he was weird, and she claims that not much has changed! 😉 At 18, she told him that he had to take her on a date and it ended up lasting for 8 hours! After moving in with each other and celebrating many years of love since then, she says “he puts up with my crazy. Bless him for that haha.” Seeing how they played off of each other and worked together as a couple and as friends just showed how strong that bond that they’ve been growing for years truly is. Such a joy to see their love – major heart eyes over here!!! Something super special about them is that Angela actually referred her brother to me for his wedding, as well, so I get to photograph both of them on their special days! Check out Robert and Brontë’s Manhattan engagement session to see all their cuteness!
David popped the question to Angela at a concert using the mega screen, but the best part is that the first time the sign came up, she was in the bathroom and she missed it! She said, “Good thing they ran it again 😂😂😂.” She sent me a video of the proposal and I opened it on my phone when I was in line to pay at Target and I was IN TEARS in public. Not going to lie, I just watched it again as I am writing this and I’m crying again. Freaking love these two. <3 Angela & Dave, I couldn’t be more excited for your big day in just a few months! It’s going to be beautiful (trust me, we talked about alllll of the amazing details and I just can’t wait!), and so incredibly special to spend the day documenting your love! Thank you for being so awesome and doing all of the crazy things for these photos. See you both so soon! xoxo
