New Jersey Couple Nature Engagement Session Tori Kelner Photography

I felt so connected to Jaclyn and Vinny and their story from the first few emails Jaclyn and I exchanged. These high school sweethearts met when they were 17, went to prom together, and have grown up and more in love together over the past 9 years. One of their first dates together was supposed to be in Point Pleasant, NJ, but they got a little lost and ended up at Manasquan beach instead! It was that day that they shared their first kiss so many years ago!

Last September, Vinny took Jaclyn back to that beach and told her that her brother and his girlfriend wanted to take pictures before the weather got too cold! As they were walking down to the beach, Jaclyn turned around to find Vinny on his knee while her brother and his girlfriend took pictures and videos of the entire proposal! Vinny completely surprised her – she had no idea it was coming! So sweet!

One of the first questions I like to ask my couples is if they have any special locations in mind for their session – I think it’s so much more meaningful to celebrate this milestone in a location that holds significance to your love story. Jaclyn and Vinny moved into their new home recently, and they suggested that we start their session in their backyard that is seriously like a little magical getaway from the stream at the end of their backyard to the overgrown greenery – needless to say, I was pretty excited about it! We got some adorable in-home shots on their cozy living room couch before heading over to Rutgers Gardens to explore some more nature and catch the sunset! The way these two make each other laugh is so geniune and pure; it is so special to see 9 years worth of love right in front of me! Jaclyn and Vinny, I am so honored to get to be a part of this exciting time for you two; your love makes my heart so full, so I can only imagine how you two must feel toward each other! I seriously can’t wait to your wedding next April when you hit that big 10-year anniversary! Xoxo
