Their Wedding Day: Normandy Farms, Blue Bell, PA

My goooodness, my last wedding weekend of 2022 was one for the books! Emily and David’s fall Normandy Farm wedding was an absolute DREAM! From the warm color palette to all the special moments with loved ones, this wedding day was beautiful both visually and emotionally!

Emily and Dave had so many special details that couldn’t go unnoticed! Here are a few of my faves:

  • The journal Emily documented their love story in for years and gifted to Dave with custom doggy cufflinks
  • The surprise birthday cupcakes Emily’s friends set out for her during the morning
  • Allll the first looks – Emily’s parents, Dave’s parents, Emily with her dad, Dave with his mom, and Emily with her bridesmaids!
  • Their pups coming for portraits!
  • Their reception table number frames had different photos from their engagement session! <3

The list could go on and on! I also absolutely loved getting to stay late enough to see how WILD the dance floor got. Couldn’t help but get in on the dancing as we packed up our gear – it was such a blast. We ended the 2022 wedding season with a bang!

Their Love Story

Emily and Dave met online in 2017 and after 2 days of talking, he asked her on a date! Of course, she chose her favorite place, Cheesecake Factory! She said she mostly wanted to see if he would travel all the way to her when he was from PA and she lived in South Jersey. He did without hesitation! Dave showed up first, and Emily remembered noticing how tall he was and his smile! Her nerves instantly settled, even though her butterflies didn’t!

Dave said, “I remember when I first saw her, I thought there was no way she wasn’t making up an excuse mid-dinner to get out of it. (Like Jessica Day in New Girl when she tries Dice!) I was super nervous because I hadn’t been on a first date in a long time, so I talked too much, and made sure she ordered as much wine as she wanted (I knew she’d need a lot), it worked! That’s when I knew. The rest is history <3” Love that despite how nervous they both were, they hit it off so well and were attached at the hip ever since that first date!

When I asked what each of them loves about the other, they gave the sweetest answers! Dave said, “Emily’s drive to always be an even better person, not just in our own relationship but in all aspects of life. She’s always down for a quick mini trip to the shore or Poconos, and of course, the occasional Cheesecake Factory Oreo cheesecake surprise!” And Emily said, “We literally have the same humor so we’re constantly laughing, I love thinking about the growth between the two of us and our relationship, how thoughtful he is and always making sure I’m ok. He does so many things around the house for us and always makes sure we spend quality time together. He’s usually the one wanting to turn off the Xbox when we’re playing together or put our phones down to hang out.”

The Proposal

Emily told me all about the proposal!! It’s such a sweet story:

“Ahhhhh engagement day!!! It started off with us getting into a hit-and-run! I make it sound more serious than it was, everyone was okay. He hit our bumper and took off. However, it made us late for Dave’s plans.

As we were driving to the Poconos (I didn’t know where we were going. He told me to dress warm and be comfortable), he was upset we were running behind. I remember telling him, “it wouldn’t be us if we weren’t late or had some crazy story to tell.”

We got to Jim Thorpe and went to Glen Onoko where we went for a hike for my birthday only 2 months prior. Two months ago, we spent the weekend in a house on Jim Thorpe’s main street and had the best weekend. We found this little spot under a bridge overlooking the mountains and brought our little Pomeranian to enjoy the “hike” since the real hike was way too long for him! (We are obsessed with our dogs, FYI)

Fast forward to 2 months later, on 12/19/20, just the two of us were back at the spot. He had a photographer there to capture the moment!!! She was hiding behind a bush and popped out once he popped the q!” How amazing is that?!

Emily & David,

Ever since our first emails where you mentioned, “I’ve been obsessed with your insta for months and as soon as we got engaged I told him we have our photog, HA!” I knew this would be such an incredible experience! It’s been SO special getting to know you two, capturing your love at your engagement session, and celebrating your best day ever!! Thank you for being so kind, fun, and amazing from day one, I loooved getting to be your photographer for your dreamy fall Normandy Farm wedding day! Wishing you two a lifetime of love, adventure, puppy snuggles, and lots of dancing!
