Their Session: Rutgers Gardens, East Brunswick, NJ

This romantic and meaningful fall Rutgers Gardens maternity session highlighted an exciting chapter in Jorden and Michael’s life! On a crisp fall day, they celebrated and honored their little one on the way by doing one of their favorite activities – exploring the great outdoors!

I love that they included their furbaby and brought a friend to help take care of her while we took pictures all around. This allowed us to bring their pup in and out whenever needed for a ton of variety!

It’s always so nostalgic for me to head back to Rutgers Gardens since I grew up in the same town. I used to take pictures of my friends in high school here. It holds a lot of memories since it’s a place where I could really grow and practice my passion for photography!

Their Love Story

Michael and Jorden got married in July 2021! They were supposed to get married a year before, but had to reschedule 2 times and ended up planning 4 weddings! When they found out they were pregnant, they knew they wanted to plan a maternity session to have more photos of their love story captured!

Michael and Jorden are fun-loving and super competitive couple who met playing co-ed soccer. They both have a passion for getting outside, but also love to stay home with their cat and dog! Michael and Jorden “met by complete and utter happenstance… we both joined a co-ed soccer league during the same season and after a bunch of switching, we were assigned to the same team.” She knew really quickly that she liked Michael, and unbeknownst to him, began calling him her “soccer boyfriend.” Months down the road, they ran into each other at the beach and their relationship started taking off after their first date together!

Michael proposed on their 3-year anniversary at an annual Santa-themed scavenger hunt in front of their family. He was so nervous all night, but she didn’t suspect a thing. When he proposed, she was so taken off guard because she was trying to beat everyone else and win the scavenger hunt!

Their wedding day at Rock Island Lake Club was magical. Their dog, Millie, was their flower girl, and the whole thing went off without a hitch. They deserved that perfect day after many plan changes due to Covid!

Jorden, having a passion for photography, wanted pictures that showed off their final days as a family of 2. She said, “We are so, so excited to bring a little life into this world and to form our own family. We want to teach our children all the things we’ve learned along the way and to shape them into good people. I’ve always believed it was my true calling to become a mother, and now I get to make this dream of mine a reality.”
