Their Wedding Day: Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury

Deandra and Jason’s fall Shadowbrook at Shrewsbury wedding day is one for the books! I truly can’t wait to share all the gorgeous details and moments from their day! Dee and Jason thought of every little detail from a jaw-dropping ceremony floral installation to custom t-shirts thrown during wedding party intros to unique ways they honored their family and more! From the moment we arrived, the energy was so high! Hair and makeup going on in the salon was so much fun with all of the girls. They were laughing, crying, and hyping their girl up before she got married! It was so special seeing Jason get ready with his brothers and have a nice, relaxing morning to get ready!

Deandra gifted Jason a really beautiful pin of his late father to wear in his jacket, while Jason got Dee a gorgeous pair of earrings to wear! They included so many sentimental touches, but I think my favorite was the signatures of their loved ones printed throughout the day. They had the pattern of signatures printed and made into cones to hold flower petals at the ceremony, and a gorgeous fabric runner with the same print lay under the photos on the memory table. It was so cool to see everyone’s handwriting used in such a cool way!

I loved how many special moments they had with loved ones, like Dee getting ready with her sister, mother, and mother-in-law in a private suite before an emotional dress reveal with her bridesmaids! Her first look with her father had us all in tears right before Jason and Dee’s first look together! Their joy just radiates from them so easily, and you can see that same excitement and happiness in all of their friends and family!

Their Love Story

Deandra & Jason have been in school together since middle school! They started dating after college! He always remembered the dessert shew would make in their our Freshman class called Dirt. She always told him she would make it for him again soon. When she moved back home from school after graduating, she made him two big bowls of it. She said, “He came to pick it up and the next day I got a text that he was all out and needs more. When he would stop by to pick up his bowl(s) of dirt, we would go for long rides just talking, picking out our favorite houses in town, and listening to country music.” Their friendship turned into so much more and led them to their engagement!

For the past few years, they would drive to Newport, RI for a long weekend in the summer. Due to Covid, they planned a last-minute trip there, and before they left, Jason wanted to walk the Cliff Walk one more time! They packed up, checked out, and headed there. Deandra said, “I didn’t have an extra “walking outfit” so I wore his XL pajama shirt. He is HORRIBLE at keeping secrets so I set him up and told him “I don’t like my outfit, I don’t want to take any pictures…I am not doing my make-up and hair either” knowing damn well he knows me and knows I would have wanted to try and look presentable if I was getting proposed to. But he responded so calmly and cool with “Dee, we are just going for a walk”. So I was completely surprised!” Love that he was able to totally surprise her in a place that’s so special to their love story!

Dee says, “Jason is so patient, giving and supportive. He is always the first to calm me down when I stress the little things, and comes up with the solution to everything. Anything anyone needs, he is the first to raise his hand. He has supported all my crazy ideas and dreams.”

When I asked Jason what he loves most about her, he said, “Dee is the most amazing person I have ever met. She is beyond loving, caring, compassionate and sweet; and will do anything for her friends and family or anyone in need. Dee will go out of her way and make things more difficult on herself just to make someone else happy. She really is a special woman and I am so lucky to call her mine.” How incredible are they?!
