Their Engagement Session: In-Home, Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey

Can we just take a second to appreciate that this in-home Taco Bell engagement session is EVERYTHING I love and MORE?! Adorable couples, French bulldogs, Taco Bell, and gorgeous home decor! Couldn’t have asked for more from Kristen & Mike’s stunning in-home engagement session! I’m blown away by how cute these two are, how much fun they have together, and how special these photos are! With their sweet furbaby, Bacon, Kristen and Mike showed me around their home so we could capture their love in the place that means the most to them!

We got outside for sunset, hit the kitchen where they love to cook, snuggled on the couch with Bacon, and played video games like they love to do! Is there a better way to ring in getting MARRIED to your best friend than to document all your fave things?!

Their Love Story

Mike and Kristen met online and Kristen was hooked by the fact that his profile said he was 6’7″ and likes dark liquor! She knew she found her match! 🙂 She said, “He picked me up from my house, opened the door for me, and brought a blanket, one glass, and a bottle of whiskey (my fav). We sat there and talked for hours just sharing the glass and watching the sunset. It was like we had known each other forever. I seriously never wanted to settle down before I met him, but to sound totally cliché, I knew after that first date I was going to marry him. He proposed on my birthday!” How sweet is that first date?!

Their proposal was very sweet and casual. They were getting ready to go out to dinner for her birthday when Mike asked her what she was going to wear. She looked at him and said “this.” He was standing in their closet with his hands up on the shelf like he was reaching for a sweatshirt, and he said “what if you wear this instead?” which is when he pulled out the ring! She cried and was so happy he finally asked her! They took whiskey shots (their favorite!) and took a picture with Bacon to celebrate – a perfect proposal!

These two are planning the most amazing cocktail-style wedding celebration in late October with a boho, rustic, easy-going yet fancy vibe! Their Water Witch Club wedding is going to be such a blast with all their favorite people! Kristen owns the adorable boutique, The Local Line, where she supports local New Jersey artists, makers, and creatives by selling their creations in her store! She creates amazing wedding decor herself, which you can see on display at her shop! I can’t wait to see all the fun wedding decor she has planned for their wedding!
