I don’t know if I say it enough (or maybe I say it too much?), but I am SO grateful for my couples. Angela and David’s late summer wedding at The Farm & Bakery Events in Quakertown, Pennsylvania was absolutely incredible from the emotional outdoor ceremony to the hysterical groom and groomsman dance during their barn reception. There were so many perfect details like the bridesmaids’ cowboy boots, the bullet shell boutonnieres, and the cupcake dessert table! Every moment of their day radiated joy and love, and thankfully, this laid-back, incredibly fun couple was up for running through fields and partying the night away. It’s such an amazing feeling, as a photographer, to be a part of such a special day when your couples have become much more like friends than clients. I can’t even imagine how much love their families must have felt because even I was in tears during their ceremony, parent dances, and toasts! Something even more special about these two is that I actually photographed Angela’s brother’s wedding a few months ago, so seeing their friends and family again was super sweet and comforting!
What I love most about toasts is that I get to learn bits and pieces about my couples beyond the stories they’ve told me! Angela and Dave met when Angela was only 16 when they worked together at Staples! The first thing she ever said to him was that he was weird (and she says not much has changed! Hahah) When she turned 18, she told him that he had to take her on a date, and that first date ended up lasting 8 hours! They moved in with each other 8 months later (during Hurricane Sandy when nobody had power!), and are going on 7 years together this year! What I learned from those toasts was that Kenny worked at Staples with these two rascals, and he and Dave ended up forming a very passionate bromance. He jokingly (or not so jokingly) said that now he’s in constant competition with Angela to spend time with Dave!
When I asked them about the proposal, she said, “Oh it is quite the story! Needless to say, I had been waiting forever for him to ask. He proposed at a concert! The funniest part is the first time the sign came up on the mega screen I was in the bathroom and missed it! Good thing they ran it again 😂😂😂” She sent me the video, and it literally made me cry (in public, of course!) Read more about them and peep their adorable engagement session where they splashed in the lake and ran around with their pups!
Angela and Dave, I am SO thankful to have been a part of such a beautiful milestone in your lives. Your love is so strong, and you two are going to have an incredible life together. I know for a fact you’ll always keep each other and everyone around you laughing! I’m so grateful and lucky to know you two and call you both friends. I can’t wait to see your love grow and see all of the amazing new adventures you have in store! Congratulations, newlyweds! Love you both so much!!! Xoxo
