Their Engagement Session: Manayunk, Philadelphia, PA

Amanda and Matt’s Manayunk engagement session was so full of fun, laughter, and color! They picked such meaningful locations from their fave brewery, Fat Lady Brewing, to some beautiful hidden gem spots in Manayunk to the cherry blossoms along the Schuylkill River. These two live in Manayunk, so there was no better way to celebrate this milestone than in the area where their love story has grown!

When I say we truly didn’t stop laughing this entire session, that’s no exaggeration. Matt’s outgoing personality and Amanda’s humor are such an amazing combo to witness. It was so sweet to see the way they look at each other and know how to make one another smile!

Fat Lady Brewing was such a cool spot to start our session. They opted for a fun blueberry Shandy (to honor their pup named Shandy) to drink while we hopped around this vibrant location! Such a fun vibe before heading out for sunset photos by the water!

Their Love Story

Matt and Amanda met at Penn State, and it was love at first swipe! On their first date, Matt invited her over for lunch because he wanted to cook something for her. They both love to cook! Once she got to his house, they hit it off immediately and got to talking. They were chatting and laughing so much that they totally forgot to eat! They ended up walking to their classes together which happened to be in buildings right next to each other and picked up quick food on the way. That night, he called her asking to see her again! 🙂

Amanda told me, “Our typical date night usually has a theme! For example, we might do an “Italian Night” where we spend time making a charcuterie board, drinking an Aperol Spritz and red wine, playing Italian music in the background, making focaccia bread and homemade pasta! We might pick up a small tiramisu for dessert. 🙂 We’ve been trying to get in at least 2 dates per month – one inside of the house and one outside of the house. For a night out, we’ll typically do a fun activity like bowling or cocktails followed by a nice restaurant in Philly – most likely a Michael Schulson restaurant with his famous tasting (and delicious) menus!” Love that these two are always up to something fun (when they’re not home cuddling their mini double doodle, Shandy)!

They’ve been together for 6 years, and on their 5 year anniversary, Matt proposed! He created an elaborate scavenger hunt at Penn State’s Arboretum with their closest friends – the best day ever!

They’re planning a cozy, rustic-inspired winter wedding at Bear Brook Valley. Amanda says she’s a self-proclaimed polar bear and loves the cold, so they’re hoping for a bit of snow and frosted evergreens!
